Elkhorn Creek Watershed Project
The Heritage Council has received an EPA 319h grant to produce a watershed report and plan for Elkhorn Creek. The creek was identified 'highly impacted' by the Kentucky Department of Water. The goal of the project is to identify the problems, create measurements for TMDLs, and proposals to fix the problems resulting in a creek clean enough to fish and swim in. If you live in the Elkhorn Creek watershed, we want to hear from you! Read the Appalachian News-Express report.
